What says Valentine’s Day like chocolate? At Fish Navy Films, we are chocoholics, so what better V-Day gift for us than a chocolate fish!
The chocolate gourami (Sphaerichthys osphromenoides) originates from Borneo, Sumatra and the Malay Peninsula. They are popular aquarium fish, and the females are mouth brooders, guarding their eggs in their mouths.
Fun fact: Chocolate fish are a popular candy in New Zealand made of chocolate-covered pink or white marshmallow. Kiwis know the chocolate fish as a reward for a job well done (for example, “Give that boy a chocolate fish.”)
Of course not all chocolate fish are delicious. Check out this funny commercial by an Argentinian dish soap company, Ayudin, suggesting that other soaps leave behind scum that could make your chocolate taste like your previous meal… in this case, fish.
