The 3rd day of Fishmas

On the 3rd day of Fishmas, my dear love gave to me…  starfish cookies!

There’s the Biscuit sea star (Tosia australis), that can be found in Australia and Tasmania.

Not a fan of plain biscuits? How about a Chocolate chip sea star (Protoreaster nodosus) instead? It lives in the Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean and Red Sea.

Fun fact: many starfish can start digesting their prey outside of their bodies. This is thanks to a cardiac stomach that they can push out of their bodies, onto their prey (usually shellfish).

No studies have confirmed whether cookies consist of part of their diets. 😉
